Building Community
For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Seattle and our region will be host to hundreds of thousands of people and attracting billions of viewers worldwide
It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host, participate and consider the long-term impact of such an event.
RAVE Foundation, the charitable partner of Seattle Sounders FC, is in the midst of fulfilling a statewide legacy investment of soccer by building 26 soccer fields (mini pitches) in underserved communities throughout Washington, in time for the 2026 World Cup.
Partners
There are myriad partners who are making this possible – and one group that is truly standing out: Thach Nguyen, Stephanie Owens, Chris Welch, Charles McKinney and the entire Springboard to Wealth family.
Over the past two years, this generous community has worked tirelessly with passion and conviction to make an impact on the lives of kids and families by making generous donations to the cause. From NewHolly’s Central Park to Highlands Park in Renton, and as far east as MLK Jr. Elementary in Yakima – the impact of both free play and programming at these fields and others has already touched the lives of thousands of people.
RAVE Townhomes Project
In 2023, one of the highlights was the purchase and sale of the ‘RAVE House’ in Kirkland, which itself netted nearly $250,000 to help fund the 26 by 2026 initiative, made possible by the generosity of dozens of home remodel vendors and those who helped finance the project. It quickly proved itself as a ‘new way’ to fundraise and inspired others to support the efforts.
Thach and the Springboard family have identified another location and opportunity in the Rainier Valley – this time at the corner of S. Walden St. and Claremont Ave. S – where a seven-unit townhome project will be built in 2024. Again, all profits from this development will help fund the continuation of RAVE’s legacy commitment of building fields and impacting communities throughout the region.
